I’ve spent the last week in Adelaide, a city known mostly for its picturesque parks, but I’ve come to discover there’s a lot more going on underneath its pretty façade. With an underlying rich history of the innovators of South Australia, public places turned into art on every corner and always more than one festival running at any one time, here’s how to soak up the best of what Adelaide has to offer.
So why didn’t I love Hobart? Was in the weather? I’m sure it had an impact but mostly I think I’d just been spoilt by the beautiful Launceston, Cradle Mountain and drive to Tasmania’s biggest city. Hobart is surrounded by the water so to get there or leave involves crossing the iconic Tasman Bridge.
So the day finally arrived. On Friday 22nd I left Melbourne, the one place where I will have spent the most time in my year in Aus, and I think it was a pretty good choice. World’s most liveable city they say? I’d be inclined to agree.
